Get off data entry and back on the job

Hi, I am Dan Gauerke. I am 32, a mining engineer out of Virginia Tech.

I started in the coal mines as a laborer. Since then I have worked in salt mines, gold mines and emerald mines. I learned to run every piece of equipment underground, then worked my way up: shift boss, mining engineer, project engineer, project controller, superintendent, project manager. Ten years with underground mining contractors across Australia, the United States and Colombia.

So I have been on both sides of the daily report. I wrote them at the face after twelve hours, and I chased miners from the office for what they left out.

On my last job I taught myself to code, late at night in the Colombian jungle after shift. I got obsessed with AI and started a consultancy automating admin work for over 65 companies.

Now I am going back to my roots and doing it for mining contractors.
